Wood Lane – Temporary Road Closure

Norfolk County Council have advised of the C167 Wood Lane temporary Road closure. The closure is to facilitate carriageway improvement works. The temporary road closure is due to come into effect on Monday 25 February 2013. However the road closure will only be used from 25 February to 10 May 2013. From 13 May to 7 June 2013 the road will be opened again and the rest of the works will be carried out under 2-way lights. This work has been rescheduled due to the adverse weather we have been having over the last few weeks. Wood Lane will be closed between its junctions with the A47 and Walnut Tree Lane. The diversion is via Walnut Tree Lane/Sandy Lane/Weston Green Road, Heath Road. Please see attached plan – Temporary Road Closure.pdf. As part of the works the Council will be carrying out tree & hedge felling, realigning existing verges and kerb lines, diverting existing utility apparatus, planting of new trees & hedges and resurfacing the existing carriageway widening it to a minimum of 6m. Vehicular access to properties within the closure will be maintained from one direction at all times and special signs, indicating businesses remain open, will be erected where required. Emergency services and bus companies will also be made aware of the closure, so that arrangements can be made for their vehicles. The Plan also shows the Section 4 works (to Sandy Lane) which are currently programmed for construction in 2014/15 financial year.
